Tough times meant tenacious care at our eight regional health centers and satellite clinics in FY2008. With an increasingly unhealthy economy, PPGG stretched its safety net even tighter and worked even harder for the six Bay Area counties we serve: Alameda, Marin, Mendocino, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Sonoma. Our clients felt the direct hit of increases in the uninsured and unemployed; already 92 percent were at or below the federal poverty line. So, we stepped up our efforts at prevention and gave medically underserved clients critical service in family planning; testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections; and primary care. And we worked smarter too, rolling out a new practice management system, NextGen, that will expedite appointments and eventually digitize medical records. For over 55,000 women, men, and teens this year, PPGG held the line on a healthy future.

We never treat people like statistics. But we count with satisfaction the Bay Area residents we served with reproductive and primary health care in FY2008: over 55,000.
