Privacy Policy

Whenever you interact with a Web site on the World Wide Web or another person on the Internet, you make available some information about yourself and your computer. Indeed, part of what makes the Web so useful is its ability to allow users to access a wide variety of information yet, at the same time, tailor their activities to the type of information that interests them the most.

In order to do that, users are frequently asked about the categories of information that interest them, and Web sites collect data regarding the types of information that visitors are seeking. However, as Web use has increased, users have expressed increasing concerns about privacy and the collection of user information.

Planned Parenthood Golden Gate (PPGG) has a firm commitment to privacy. We take your privacy concerns seriously and want to make every effort to address them. That is why we have adopted the following policy, which explains our position on information gathering and how we intend to use any user data we may collect from our users.

Your Personal Information

From time to time, we ask for information that personally identifies you, as in our online store or our donations Web page. We will not disclose any personal information without your advance permission except when we believe the law requires us to do so or the disclosure is necessary to protect the rights or property of PPGG.

In order to improve the design of our Web site or analyze the services we offer, we gather user information in an aggregate form that does not identify individual users. For example, we may find that most of our users come to us through search engines rather than from their IP domain. This may help us make decisions about marketing our Web site.

Occasionally, we may disclose personal information in other circumstances, but we will only do this if we have explained at the time we collect the information the purpose for which it will be disclosed. You can review specific information regarding our Health Information Privacy Practices by clicking here.

What user information do we have?

Our logging software recognizes the home server of visitors, but not their e-mail addresses or their identities. We may collect a user's e-mail address or other personal information if the user makes a purchase at our online store or makes a donation. We may also collect information such as the time of your visit, the amount of time you spend on the ppgg.org Web site and any errors encountered. This information is kept strictly confidential.

E-mail Privacy

PPGG does not rent, sell, barter or give away its users' e-mail addresses for use by outside parties for any purpose.

Donor Privacy

While we strive to protect your personal information and privacy, we cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other information you disclose online will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this policy. We intend to cooperate with all law enforcement inquiries and with other third parties as we believe necessary in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property rights infringement or any other activity that is illegal or may expose PPGG to legal liability.

Data or information supplied on our Web site also may be subject to eavesdropping, sniffing, spoofing, forgery, spamming, tampering, "impostering", breaking passwords, harassment, fraud, electronic trespassing, hacking, and other limitations of the security and/or authentication features of our system. You also acknowledge that PPGG's Web site potentially may include viruses and/or other material that could permit unauthorized access or cause potential damage to the data and information on your computer.

This Privacy Policy discloses PPGG's privacy practices for its Web site. We reserve the right to change and update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
